Why use QR Cat's Artistic QR Code Generator?

  • Free styling controls: gradients, dot and eye shapes, frame labels and logo placement, with PNG and SVG export. Other services also offer free static QR tools; compare their current features directly.
  • AI-style, model-safe direction: pick a print, package, menu, event or social look and copy a prompt for an image model without asking the model to redraw the QR pattern.
  • Presets plus full control: eight hand-tuned, scan-checked presets for instant results, or customize every detail to match your brand exactly.
  • Preserve the quiet zone, strong contrast and a small logo. Judge the actual exported file; a higher correction level is not a promise of successful scanning.
  • SVG export keeps the artwork sharp when resized for a poster or banner. Check the final physical size and scan a printed sample.
  • Generated locally in your browser — your content never touches our servers, and we don't track scans.
  • Free forever, never expires: these are static codes — your content lives inside the image itself, not on our servers. Even if this site shut down, your printed codes keep working — unlike the sites that disable your code when a trial ends and hold it for ransom.
  • No watermark, no sign-up: download and go. We don't stamp a logo on your code or make you hand over an email first.

QR Cat vs QR Tiger / QRCode Monkey / Scanova — free vs paywalled, honestly

Create a styled static QR code with gradients, custom dot and eye shapes, a logo and frame labels. PNG/SVG export is free. Review the decoded content and the final artwork before printing; visual styling does not guarantee readability.

Dynamic codes (edit link + scan analytics)Not offered — we only do static (see note below)The core paid feature of QR Tiger / Scanova

One honest thing we don't do: dynamic codes. If you need to change where a printed code points later, or track how many times each code was scanned and from where, that's a dynamic code — it requires a paid hosted service running continuously, which a purely local, zero-server free tool like ours fundamentally can't provide. For dynamic codes, use Scanova (which specializes in it). But if you just want a good-looking, scannable, never-expiring static code — which is most people — the tool above is free and enough.

Frequently asked questions

Is artistic QR really free? Other sites make these a paid feature.

The styling controls and PNG/SVG exports here are free, with no account or watermark. QRCode Monkey also offers free static QR design and vector export. Choose based on your workflow, and test the final artifact.

Will a styled code still scan?

Colors, shapes and a logo can affect decoding. Keep dark modules, a light background, a clear quiet zone and a small logo. A digital check describes the tested image only; check the downloaded file and a printed sample before distribution.

Could gradients or shapes break scanning on some phones?

Yes, styling can affect different decoders. Keep modules dark, the background light and the quiet zone clear. Check the exported file after adjustments, then try it on the intended phones and a printed sample.

What's the frame and 'SCAN ME' label for?

A frame plus an action label measurably lifts scan intent — many people see a lone code and don't know whether to scan it or why. A clear 'SCAN ME' (or 'Scan for the menu', etc.) tells them exactly what to do. With 'Frame + label' on, your downloaded PNG is a finished, ready-to-print graphic.

How do I use the artistic code on cards, posters or packaging?

For print, always download SVG (vector, sharp at any size) for design and printing; use PNG for web and social. If you also want a matching logo, business cards or poster templates so the whole set looks consistent, there's a brand-design partner link on the page — but the QR itself is always free; the design is an optional next step.

Is artistic QR really free? Other sites make these a paid feature.

These styling controls and PNG/SVG exports are free, without an account or watermark. QRCode Monkey also offers free static QR styling and vector downloads. Use the workflow that fits your task and verify the final export.

Will a free artistic code have a watermark or branded popup?

Neither. We don't stamp a logo on your downloaded code, and people who scan it won't get our branded page (QR Tiger shows a branded popup when a free code is scanned). Download and go — clean.

QR Cat and QRCode Monkey are both free for artistic codes — what's the difference?

QRCode Monkey also offers free static styling and vector export. QR Cat generates content and logos locally and provides design presets. Presets do not guarantee that arbitrary content will decode; check the actual export and a print sample.

Can I export vector SVG for free to send to a printer?

SVG export is free and preserves sharp edges when resizing artwork. Set an appropriate physical size and scan a printed sample before producing a batch.

Will a styled artistic code still scan?

Colors and artistic shapes can affect decoding. Preserve dark modules, a light background, a clear quiet zone and a small logo; higher correction cannot guarantee success. Check the actual export and scan a physical sample on the intended devices.

I need a code I can edit or track scans on — does QR Cat do that?

No — that's a dynamic code, which needs a paid hosted service running continuously. QR Cat only does static codes (free, never expiring). If you genuinely need to edit the link after printing or track scan counts, use Scanova. For branded artistic codes you post for people to scan, a free static code is enough.
